Even before Halo 3 was released in Malaysia, there was much anticipation from its US release. Locals didn’t let the Malaysia slated September release date prevent them from experiencing this interstellar first person shooter game before then, though. The fact that the game is exclusive to the Xbox 3, which isn’t available here, couldn’t hold them back either.
As one avid gamer, Adam Carruthers, put it, “I've got all the consoles..and as a serious gamer, its gotta be the Xbox 360 and Halo 3″
This game pits the 26th century human race against a group of alien races known as the Covenant. In the role of the Master Chief (a cybernetically enhanced solider), the player is the leader in a war against the aliens, which takes place in a plethora of backdrops including an industrial zone and the lush African jungles.
When Halo 3 finally went on sale here recently, the buzz it had generated brought in hundreds of eager gamers who waited in long lines to get their hands on their very own (original, mind you) copies. This proves that even in a country where pirated versions of games are not plentiful but the norm, original console games are still in demand. Especially when it’s a game called Halo 3.
