Fung Wan Online is the first Malaysian made PC MMORPG (what a mouthful! MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). The game is based on a famous Chinese comic by the same moniker. Set in ancient China, the game is unique to most games in that Chinese culture is heavily featured in all its aspects. Players can choose between 5 different classes of characters which are made up of different stances. What is most interesting perhaps, are the five different clans that make up the Fung Wan Online land, all of which are fully controllable by the players.
The people behind this game were homegrown developers, Phoenix Games Studio, who have since been bought over by international gaming conglomerate, John Galt Game, when they recognized the talent in this Malaysian made company. it’s rather inspiring to note that the entire development of this game was done in Malaysia by Malaysians. Furthermore, Fung Wan Online is not only doing well here, it has an international following.
