I swore I’d never pay a penny more than $10 for a movie

But it’s still somehow cheaper than a bar. I’d say I go about once every two months.
When I saw the District 9 on billboards, it looked like just another lame alien movie. But then people started raving about it. It’s supposed to be a Blade Runner type sci-fi movie, which is right up my alley. I just saw the trailer and this is at the top of my list right now.
I swear I don’t hate fun, but for some reason I never really seek out comedies. So don’t ask me why I really want to see Men Who Stare at Goats. My boyfriend suggested I watch the trailer, and by the end I was convinced I’d like it.
I am a documentary junkie, care about animals, and have worked with wildlife. So it’s no surprise that I would love The Cove. I think how this movie is framed as an action movie is brilliant. I had started eating fish recently but totally cut that out of my diet after watching this movie.
Yes, I saw the Hurt Locker because it was directed by a woman. And no, I don’t usually seek out war movies. But I think it lived up to the hype and defied any kind of gender expectations.
