To the Moon @ 529
529 is my favorite new Atlanta venue. Tiny space, great sound, cheap shows, and really creative booking. It’s like the best of Atlanta combined with the best of New York.
No Brakes is this great little bike shop. They’re basically the place to find parts for fixed gear bikes (and general fixed fashion gear).
When I’ve got tons of extra money to spare, I head to Craft Bar (attached to Craft ). It’s Tom Colicchio’s Atlanta restaurant, but it doesn’t feel like just another local copy of some NYC restaurant. They’ve got an innovative way of channeling regional tastes into their dishes. They also serve a dish that’s bacon and peanut butter. Delicious.
Merkerson’s Fish Market = cheap cheap cheap fried fish. This place is right next door to my house. Which means every day is a day for fried fish and okra.
