Ever drunk Bailey’s from a shoe?

Since “season” (aka the end of the tourist-starved summer) started up again in Miami, I haven’t had much time to watch for pleasure.  However, most of my immediate group of friends are currently obsessed with The Mighty Boosh.

The easiest way to explain it is a British Flight Of The Conchords on acid, with a little Monty Python thrown in.  It’s super trippy, funny, and infinitely quotable with lots of current pop culture references and musical numbers.  We’ve been putting the DVDs on loop at the record store for informal Boosh-a-thons.

Watch the video below, if you dare.  You may never look at a bottle of Bailey’s the same way again…

And a quicker one highlighting the intuitive fashion sense of the wonderfully cheeky Mr. Vince Noir (Noel Fielding):

Super random but another obsession lately has been the old episodes of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes that were produced by the UK’s Granada TV, I believe in the ’80s.  Actor Jeremy Brett who plays the lead is considered by Holmes freaks to be the quintessential Sherlock, and I’d agree.  The way he brings one of the most complex literary characters to life is amazing, down to the tiniest mannerism, and it makes me a little scared to see the Guy Ritchie film coming out later this year.  Holmes was indeed an amateur pugilist, but the scene from the trailer made it look like Fight Club!  I’ll probably see it anyway but it might send me running home to Jeremy.

I rarely anticipate new shows but I can’t wait for the new season of 30 Rock.  I first saw the show as it was just starting the third season and went back and caught up on the first two seasons before continuing.  This time around I’m even considering buying one of those iTunes season passes for a ridiculous amount since I don’t own a TV.  We’ll see…
