HBO’s True Blood with its slightly campy style is a delight to watch, partly because it doesn’t take itself to seriously and partly because vampires are sexy. Although I have yet to watch an entire episode myself, my friends have been going gaga over Supernatural, with its winning combination of quirky humor and scary monsters. It seems the world just can’t get enough of David Duchovny, and he just can’t get enough of women. The Red Shoe Diaries, with its not-so-subtle eroticism, is the latest in a string of Duchovny’s successes: among them the celebrated X-Files and Californication. Duchovny plays a role that is as familiar to him in real life as it is on the tube – of a womanizing sex addict.

And amidst all of this blood and lust, I have revisited an old love: Dexter. The fact that the show scored a coveted spot on Sunday evening Primetime makes it all just a little too easy.
