Old and New make great, if un-easy, viewing

I’m looking forward to the Gaspar Noe film Enter The Void. Despite not having seen Irreversible, it seems great that a filmaker would approach something as marginal as DMT and explore it visually. There’s not many clips, and only an enigmatic trailer online, but I’m expecting something like a hardcore porn version of Fantasia. Insert something about cartoons for grown ups here.

 THE-EXORCIST

I just started watching The Exorcist as well, and I didn’t realise how experimental the cutting is. In Easy Riders and Raging Bulls, Friedkin goes on about how he wanted to make a movie for everyone to watch, but I loved how there’s no dialogue for the first 5 minutes and how the music is barely used. Oh, and I keep shouting “The Sow Is Mine” at people too.
