The Fuzz Is Back In Miami

jacuzzi_boysEnter the Jacuzzi Boys and Electric Bunnies, two South Florida bands keeping fuzzy garage rock alive with lots of subtropical psychedelia and experimental style.  Both bands have recently released new LPs on the excellent Florida’s Dying Records. This video below for the Jacuzzi’s “Island Ave.” perfectly captures the feeling of driving around Miami in the summertime:

The Electric Bunnies album “Through the Magical Door” comes with artwork by Miami art/video/clothing collective Lucha Workshop and the gatefold LP and inserts become a complete board game!  Check out the awesome video Lucha Workshop did for the Bunnies’ “Sailing All Alone Tonight”:

In their same vein, Austin, TX band Harlem recently came through Miami and played at Churchill’s along with the Jacuzzis and the Bunnies.  It was a great show and since Harlem were recently signed to a huge deal with Matador, I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more about them.  I picked up their debut album at the show and it hasn’t left my CD player since.

Last but loudest, I got a promo of the Them Crooked Vultures album and of course, it effing rocks.  Josh Homme is a beast and can do no wrong in my book.
