I feel I’ve been here before – time travel

Flash Forward

After HBO’s killer last season of Lost, which involved a hell of a lot of Time Travel, how would ABC react? Well, with a six month flash forward of consciousness. Flash Forward is actually compulsive viewing. An all star cast (including some Lost crossovers who died earlier in the series) try to make sense of their six month flash forward and the blackout which occurred afterwards. I won’t say much more than the first 5 episodes are so far so good.

Continuing the sci-fi geek trend, the second series of Fringe firmly takes over the mantle from the X-Files. We see yet again, a strong, sexy but flawed woman with a gun, partnered with a mysterious, strong, sexy but flawed, man with a gun. Add one of the guys from Bros as a soldier from another universe, Spock and DNA freaks/monsters eating road workers and you have another hit show which has the possibility of crossing over into the mainstream.

Talking X-Files, David Duchovny’s third season as Hank Moody is underway. The same antics, mid-life crisis, sex, drugs and rock n roll (but less rock n roll than last time) take place with some new female interest and a potential love triangle. None of these seasons have hit traditional TV out here – they are on the previous season – but strangely many people have seen the latest episodes and are following them avidly.
