Thriftastic New Locations

Times are tough, and recycling is awesome!  Because of those factors, Miami recently got not one but THREE new locations where thrift and vintage clothes are sold.

Sale Rack just opened in Coconut Grove and seems to be more along the lines of a Buffalo Exchange where the clothes are more cherry picked and designer-centric.  Just read about it last week and can’t wait to go!  I’ve got some denim to cash in as well…

In Ft. Lauderdale, when I go thrifting I always hit up Jezebel.  It’s a super cute boutique in the Gateway Plaza with all sorts of new merch and a great selection of vintage dresses in the back.  They’re organized by decade which is awesome.  The prices are a tad high, but it’s like being able to walk into a real-life eBay search and actually try on what’s up for grabs!

Lotus House Thrift is in the Wnywood Arts District and all proceeds benefit the Lotus House, which helps homeless women in Miami.  They carry furniture and home goods in addition to clothes.

Out Of The Closet is a small chain that also gives its proceeds to charity, the AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation).  From what I hear their new spot needs some work and new merch but they’re also a pharmacy and offer HIV testing and counseling which is pretty cool for the community.
