Young Moscow-based director Pavel Ruminov showed up with a new experimental work after several years of silence. His new film is called ‘Circumstances’ and it is basically a psychological insight into the strange world of surprise interconnections between human lives produced in the form of naive old-school comedy.

Ruminov is considered to be the only young film director in Russia who managed to produce trashy video-work and then sell it to production companies in order to be later released for national distribution. His previous and fiercely anticipated film Dead Daughters disappointed and inspired equal amount of critics leaving the question open whether he is capable of producing another serious movie.

‘Circumstances’ is a bizarre mixture of various incompatible plots which lead your mind into the state of full nirvana. This meditative surrealist approach of taking serious things in a radically perverted way gave birth to a bright story which will definitely split the audience into Ruminov’s severe critics and ardent fans again.
