The best thing out this month was Trunk Record’s release of the music from the BBC TV show Life On Earth, which was narrated by David Attenborough. I got it for my dad for Christmas to make him relax a bit more. It’s got such an otherworldly, beautiful feel to it. As I sat there and listened to it with my family we tried to guess what kind of scenes the bits of music were relating to. When I said: “this is one about a small animal escaping from some sort of hole, possibly from the jaws of a reptile attack”, my dad looked at me like I was crazy and said: “no wonder you turned out to be a journalist” and that was the funniest thing that happened at the family Christmas.
