Them up above there are Venereans, a newish punk group from Valencia who play punk rock and roll. At their best they sound like the UK’s Lovvers with more of a Cramps influence, and at their very worst a bit like the B52’s.

Venereans are one of 4 new new bands who are making rock music which isn’t schlocky, predictable indie or post rock that sounds like everything that wasn’t ever really that cool 5 years ago. (Nobody genuinely LIKED sigur ros)

Weirdly they’re all on the same label, Oviedo’s Discos Humeantes.

Las Nurses are probably my favourite of the bunch, it’s kind of droney adolescent post punk with shouting over the top. Like a more R&B version of the Fall

Los Daggers are sharper faster and closer to a west coast LA punk sound from the early 80’s. Circle Jerks, Germs kind of thing.

There’s also this band called Concentration Summer Camps, who are closer to traditional Hardcore. I don’t actually like them that much but their name is funny, and I’d already written the title of this post, so they go in too.
