Fuzzy Wuzzy

My favorite winter fashion accessory du jour is fur: real or faux, displayed on trim on bomber hats, scarves, on hoods, as trim on the ends of the sleeves and bottom edges of winter coats, on the brims of winter boots, or worn as a puff style hat, fur is a trend that is both fashionable and functional.  It packs a punch in terms of conserving body heat, and works wonderfully when worn with the Montreal Fashionista’s favorite colored uniform: all black from head to toe.  The varieties that I choose to rock are the fuzzy fur hat and the classic (faux) rabbit fur scarf.  But there is one key rule to consider when sporting all things fuzzy wuzzy: one furry accessory is enough, and two is too many.

It is, however, acceptable to pair a furry collar with oversized 80′s style glasses, or a pair of vintage ’60′s cat-eye specs, or to rock it with purple or blue-rimmed eyes, a pair of knee-high or thigh-high socks worn overtop of a favorite pair of opaque (colored) tights.  In fact, you could even combine a fur collar with a pair of cat-eye glasses, purple-rimmed eyes AND thigh-high socks with a pair of boots, a black dress and a black wide-collared coat for the ultimate in functional winter fashion.
