Musicals are not something closely associated with hip-hop and underground. Nevertheless Moscow based hip-hop community How2Make produced a classic 100-% pure musical ‘Cops on Fire’ about dusty days of Moscow policemen.
Four cops are patrolling night streets in search for an evil genius Jigurdamoris who has presumably invented a completely new type of drugs – dermoin – shittaine literally in English – and plans to enslave the world again. They fail to imprison him as it turned out that Jigurdamoris is a father of one of the cops and the things go wrong in a very sudden and dark way.
‘Cops on Fire’ is a self-proclaimed hip-hopera which enforced so many talented musicians, artists and producers to collaborate on the subject. Creators claim they’ll see this play someday in Bolshoi Theatre. In cops we trust.
