Streetwear: Make it Preppy!

Antoine | February 17th, 2010

We’re in the middle of the fashion week here in Paris, and it’s really interesting to observe the look of the hipsters backstage or in parties.

Streetwear seems to have moved onto another level: over the Hip-Hop/gangsta inspiration, over the “skate or death” era, it seems that the cool boys want to look like young 50′s american students.

Back to the roots!

It seems that is also the end of the “Bling culture”: people want to be more discrete, prefering the quality.

Inspired by maestros like Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, but also Abercrombie or J. Crew, this casual way of clothing is growing , particularly in US. From New York to L.A, new designers explore the basics of the american wardrobe.

My favourite: the Brooklyn Circus. Nice shape, nice color, nice stuff, and special mention for their Teddy Jacket (one of the best shape I’ve ever seen)
