First of all, it’s a good opportunity to tell you about this amazing artist, Serge Gainsbourg, ne the greatest artist of the 20th century.

This musical genius has written some the most beautiful French songs. He has worked with Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Vanessa Paradis, recorded reggae with Sly and Robbie. Listen to “Melody Nelson” – maybe the only French record from the early 70’s that has influenced so many artists worldwide, even in UK.

The second good reason is that the film is really good and offers a non-conventionnal portrait of the artist. A really original biopic – elegant and arty.

The director is one of the most talented french cartoonists, Joann Sfar, the casting is amazing with Lucy Gordon (RIP), Laetitia Casta, Anna Mouglalis…
