I’m one of the people that believes love and appreciation for others should be shown all year round therefore I try hard each February 14th to avoid my favourite romantic spots and the throbbing masses of love-struck individuals. Having said that, a few seasonal events are worth checking out.
The annual Erotic Arts and Crafts Fair, held this year at the Gladstone Hotel, features sexy crafts, zines, photography, fashion, toys and erotic splendour. The event is organized by Come As You Are, Toronto’s long-running all-sex-is-positive, collective-run sex store that frequently hosts art shows, events and workshops (in addition to selling all supplies).
Be Mein Valentine is another worthy V-Day event also hitting the Gladstone Hotel. Toronto’s longest running burlesque troupe, Skin Tight Outta Sight, will be joined by Boylesque, Canada’s only all-male burlesque troop, for two nights of steamy burlesque inspired by 1920s Berlin.
