I was excited to see the movie Notorious, a biography about Biggie Smalls, even before I remembered how much I love the music! This movie chronicles Chris Wallace [Notorious B.I.G.], his early career trials and romantic pursuits, including wife Faith Evans, and mistress Lil’ Kim.
This movie was pleasurable in the way really well-produced movies are…there is humor, violence, drug-dealin’, sex, money and of course, dirty-smooth rappin’. I think some of the facts were glossed over to avoid too much grit, but the film succeeds in overall entertainment, without pinning the blame directly on any one person responsible for the East side/West side drama and subsequent shootings of Biggie and former friend, Tupac Shakur. Well worth seeing.
