Amelie Kiefer-German TV

Benji | March 5th, 2010

Despite her tender age of just 22, Amelie Kiefer has been a feature of the German television landscape for over a decade. Born in Munich, she was 5 when she stood in front of the camera for the first time.

After graduating from high school, she spent a year in Argentina studying art before returning a year later back to Munich and German TV-screens. Despite the culturless television industry with its low budget shows and tele-novelas, Amelie was instantly booked for the country’s most serious roles.

All of her TV work is hard hitting stuff, which then led her to the big cinema screen in 2008, where she played alongside Jürgen Vogel in the movie Die Welle, for which she won the Undine Award. In 2009 her succes continued with a nomination for the Günter-Strack-Prize and the German Television Prize for her role as the cancer suffering Ann in the TV production Die Drachen

Definitely one of Germany’s acting stars, and one to watch for the future.
