Patrik North of Acephale Records is kind of the A&R whiz of the late 00′s with his artists such as Crystal Castles and Salem becoming enigmatic web obsessions. Robin of still-excellent blog 20JazzFunkGreats whose label Tri Angle releases its first records in the next few weeks is somewhat spawned of the same inspirational slime. The records they are releasing could be described as neo-minimalist. Most of the artists work with limited palettes and concise visions. Both labels cross paths with 808 hip-hop or wonky dub-step as well as haunted synth music. Black and white minimal graphics, fog machines, upside down crosses and a beaming third eye. Over-processed vocals keep them undynamic as well, but good undynamic.
