Dis is not the most popular new website just yet. Some friends of mine showed it to me and I thought to myself “so that is what you guys have been up to after all these years of being intriguing.” It’s very smart, pretentious, futuristic, hip, and is presented with a faux-corporate austerity. It is also pretty gay. DIS has already made waves in the fashion world and has been mentioned in Artforum, and seems like it can only go up from here. It’s more conceptual art than a typical culture-mag at this point and is surely operating without press junkets.
Here is the preview for a soap-opera they made for the site. The first episode is pretty smart.
