Shopping online can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to go, but look no further than Farfetch.com. Farfetch features items from 40 different European and American shops, but here’s the best part – there’s only one check-out, even if you are purchasing from multiple boutiques.
Personally, I am such a tactile person when it comes to clothing that I am slightly apprehensive about buying online. However, Farfetch has made it so easy it takes the edge off. Browsing through Farfetch, they have many of my favourite high-end designers in the Luxe section, some great indie and experimental designers in the Lab, and diffusion lines and denim in the Cult section. By unifying all these things into one site, Farfetch gives smaller businesses and designers a chance to participate in e-commerce and get recognition alongside more established retailers and labels.
The site is thorough and easy to navigate – you can search by boutique, designer, or category, and you can even type in descriptions such as ‘sheer’ to find all items with a slinky sheerness. I’m coveting the Alexander McQueen sheer, psychedelic scull-print blouse, but it’s more than my rent. I have yet to complete my checkout, but it’s sure fun to browse.
