The Divine Promise of Fall

Kate | September 17th, 2010

After living in Austin for four year, I’m both sad and pleased to say that I’m moving back to attend graduate school in New York this fall. It’s a bittersweet thing, leaving such a wonderful place that has come to be such a great surrogate hometown. That said, I’m pleased by the prospect of returning to the northeast, chiefly for the glorious prospect of fall.

As I prepare to completely alter my surroundings, one major personal shift is already looming — how I clothe myself. I can’t think of a better way to return to the east coast than to stock up on the fashions of my childhood years, the classic looks of New England’s very own LL Bean.

I’ve been doing some heavy perusing of vintage LL Bean on etsy, but was even able several days ago to visit the cheesy yet awesome Maine mecca itself. It’s open 24 hours a day, in case you’re desperately in need of some high waisted khakis RIGHT NOW. I picked up some sweet boots to comfort myself about the prospects of actually facing winter. Here they are, except that I went with a more classic brown. Mmm, thank goodness for (faux) shearling.
