The comedy Better Off Ted, starring Portia De Rossi as intimidating CEO of Veridian Dynamics, is well-written, hilarious and odd. Awkward situations, office politics and company-issued ideas fill the show, such as freezing one of the corporation’s main scientists merely to see if it could be done. The two smartest scientists are Phil and Lem, two of the nerdiest nerds you’re likely to see. They speak boldly in private, only to one another, but cower in the face of Veronica.
