Happily shirking the inherent popularity of the vampire in 2010, AMC has adapted Robert Churchman’s Walking Dead for the screen and if the trailer is anything to go by, the six-episode series will be a shambolic and drooling mess in all the best possible ways.
Post-apocalyptic zombie stories aren’t unique — if you’ve read The Stand or you’ve seen 28 Days Later, you’ll enjoy this. The original comic book was brutal, unforgiving and certainly not kid’s stuff. AMC doesn’t pull any punches either, so we’re likely in for a Halloween full of despair. If you can keep the the original nature of The Prisoner and still put your own spin on it, then fans of the original comic book are going to be just fine I’d think.
