Toronto has finally embraced the CAPE! Today I was going to stage mini photo shoot at the vintage collective I am a part of, however, capes are flying out the door (pun not intended) and I could only find a few. It seems that Torontonians are warming up to the love of layering and the drama of fall.
Nothing welcomes the magic of fall like a wool cape. A nice cropped style is a great way to wear a cape and still get a modern look — it looks cute with a pencil skirt or layered up with skinny jeans. A full, structured cape has a LOT of presence — wear it to be noticed AND have people step out of your way when walking down the street. For a less dramatic look, the poncho is a softer, more casual version of the cape and may be more suited to those who just want to play with textures and layers.
