Founding your own fashion label aged 24 is pretty impressive, but doing that and launching your own conceptual debut collection at the same time?
All in a day’s work for Vladimir Karaleev who, from that debut collection CUT 210, has just shown his tenth collection at the Berlin Fashion Week earlier this month.
He was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1981, then moved to Berlin when he was 19 to study fashion at the University of Applied Sciences (HTW). He likes contemporary art, which has a strong influence on his designs. You can see that when you look at them, new shapes and experimental cuts form the defining characteristics of his creations, both in womens and menswear. Karaleev isn’t traditional, instead he creates innovative silhouettes that are strongly influenced by geometric structures. This artsy vibe that’s so evident in his approach to his designs is also shown in the presentation of his fashion.
