Oh did you think I was talking about girls? No. Sorry. Mujeres are a 4 piece garage-rock and roll-punk band who are influenced by The Black Lips and all the Goner records/In the Red people as well as being part of a tradition of psychedelic garage in Spanish.
One of the first groups to name check is Los Saicos, and Los Yorks outside of fanzines and stoner record collectors’ bedrooms, they’re worth a listen if you care about music to drink, dance, dry fuck with strangers in smoky bars and take drugs too. And you should.
They put out an LP last year which you can hear here, and are planning a 12 track cassette release with these guys in a couple of months. Oh! and they’re also playing a ton of showcases in SXSW this year. Go see them!
