My friend Neil started a new night a couple months ago called This Is Underground. Under normal circumstances I’d be hating on that name, but seeing as it takes place every 2 weeks in a basement bar called Monasterio, I’ll let it go. It’s the kind of venue/night that barcelona didn’t have for so long, and sucked because of it. 5 Euros in and 3 bands, who you won’t have heard of necesarily, but are always from ok to pretty good. As the bands are local they bring their own crowds, which makes a nice change from the preening poser hipster crowd and weekend warriors which makes Razzmatazz unbearable.
