When news that your favorite band of all time came out with a full length album that’s downloadable, you know you’re going to have a good day. Radiohead’s release, The King of Limbs, came as an absolute surprise, which kept the pre-release leaks at bay. (Remember when everyone rushed out to get the new album the day of release? Fun!)
They call it a “newspaper album,” which sounds like it means “including lots of fancy packaging.” But the add-value parts — a CD, vinyl, big art and small art — will trail the digital release. Love the album? Why not spend more for the band’s art project! Hey, I’d do it. And with Radiohead always being at the forefront getting people to pull out some bucks (remember pay what you like?), I’m sure the extras will be special.
