Olde America Still Dominates American Dining

While Manhattan continues to pride itself on pristine spaces with private dining rooms inaccessible to the ghastly plebes, Brooklyn dining continues to be rustic and classic, especially in Williamsburg where they often reference the wharf-like nature of the converted warehouse spaces. The prohibition chic is still strong with antique wood decor and lighting. Reservations are still unlikely, and the staff is still usually hip and attractive. Rye, Five Leaves, Moto, Hotel Delmano and Cafe Colette helped define the prohibition-y vibe, but new additions such as The Bedford and Maison Premiere confirm that the suspenders and curly mustaches are here to stay.
