YouTube Faves

Two of my favourite new YouTube clips came courtesy of the aforementioned Cerith. They are the awe-inspiring, emotionally intense version of Wagner’s Libestoldt by Birgit Nilsson, which in its loose meaning translates as something like: “now that you are dead and gone, all that I can do is love you forever”, a line which I find hard to say out loud to people at late night parties when I’m making them watch this clip, for fear of bawling all over their cocaine.

The second is an awe-inspiring, emotionally intense version of “My Way” by Welsh singer Dorothy Squires. Watch out for the sax player and the key line “I’ve had a few”. But all this goes together to make one of the most entertaining, camp performances of all time in the history of YouTube.
