It seems Stockholm went from having a lack of good hotels to now having a luxury hotel on every corner. Recently launched Nobis Hotel at Norrmalmstorg, is just next to the Acne flagship store and it says “Stockholm’s first contemporary luxury hotel”.
I’m sure the likes of Lydmar, Berns would beg to differ, but 201 rooms and over 800 square meters of public spaces can’t be bad. Additionally, there are 3 places to drink and eat and be merry. Caina, an Italian restaurant, 24/7 bistro and the The Gold Bar & Lounge, billed as “Stockholm’s new living room”, perhaps! The original living room for the cool crowd continues to be restaurant Riche, which is not far around the corner.
Soon to launch this autumn is the Scandic’s Grand Central at Kungsgatan 70. In a 130 year old building on the corner of Kunsggatan & Vasagtan downtown will be 391 rooms “open to everyone”.
