What do you get when you combine such trending topics as Law and Order SVU (most girls I know are obsessed with this, guys tend toward Criminal Intent), Julian Assange, recently cult-ed 90′s movie Hackers, punk-goth fashion and Sweden?…. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo duh. It was a popular film franchise after the popular books, and now it will come to America via David Fincher (Fight Club ) starring Rooney Mara- the girl who plays the cute ex-girlfriend of Mark Zuckerberg from The Social Network. The Swedish films are very cool and have been steadily talked about for a while. They foil a remorseless female hacker with a liberal whistle-blowing reporter as a new dual hero archetype and it works on so many levels- from entertainment to politics.
Let’s hope the US doesn’t ruin it right? I mean The Ring was tight both times, but with a first glance the styling seems sexier and less realistic to the character…. which is exactly what Americans want!
