Pizzicato….always reliable!

Who doesn’t love pizza in some form or other? Portland (and the state of Oregon, and a few select cities in California) is endowed with Pizzicato locations in varying neighborhoods. There are pizza snobs everywhere, but even having eaten some of the best around the world, Pizzicato is always reliable. The slices are large, the crust thin, the toppings vary according to taste and diet, as does the crust, with gluten free options. Additionally they make salads, an array of Panini sandwiches, and they have a wine and beer list featuring fancier wines, and local microbrews.

Their paninis start from $6. I would recommend the fresh mozzarella, with tomatoes, fresh basil, balsamic, and fresh e.v.o.o. AND it comes with an enormous ceasar salad and crispy parmesan wedges. Be prepared for the garlic in their Cesar dressing though! My boyfriend loves the traditional meatball panini with provolone, which is also delicious. The atmosphere is spacious and, at the location I prefer, quite cute.

They have appetizers such as bruschetta, breadsticks, hummus and flatbread, caprese, and warm artichoke/spinach dip.  Additionally I noted that they have $2 dollar slices of any variety during happy hour. They also have pizza beyond just the slice, and they deliver (sometimes by bicycle…). It’s nice to be in a relaxed environment, all the condiments that you would require are available, and there are games, and coloring everything for kids (should you have them.) Delicious. Cheap. If you are in town….
