I can’t get enough of the dark, moody melancholy that is Timber Timbre. It just hits me in all the right places. It’s obvious that many others feel the same way since while playing it in my shop this weekend everyone was asking what we were listening to.
This local band (I was sure that they were Toronto based until I saw that their Myspace page said Montreal and now I’m unclear, but no matter) has been on the scene for a while but seemed to really break through with the most recent self titled album, released on the Arts & Crafts label. It falls into the blues/folk/country category but seems to go beyond into uncharted territory.
Timber Timbre will be playing a show at Trinity St. Paul’s United Church in April which I’m really excited for. I’m sure that the church setting will enhance the already soulful and emotional quality of the music. The show also coincides with the release of their new album Creep on Creepin’ On which is available for pre-sale online.
