Lately the Twin Peaks series went instant on Netflix Watch Instantly, and so many people I know are re-visiting it or watching it for the first time.
Recently, the same also happened with the UK’s SKINS just prior to the US series airing on MTV, and Party Down before that. Once a quality show starts streaming easily, everyone watches it. Nobody I know really watches much TV in real-time anymore except for an occasional HBO show or Mad Men.
Twin Peaks has never stopped being cool, but now it’s an obsession again. I foresee ripples of influence on a whole new generation. Already the soundtrack is being oft-referenced with acts such as Dirty Beaches.
