Gallicia is the rainy green province in the north west of Spain run by corrupt right wing politicians and Colombian drug cartels. They also have some really great bands, such as Coruñas Señor Señora Señor. I went and hung out with them just before christmas and they showed me round their squat/rehearsal space/time warp into some 80′s teen movie vision of stoner bro-dom fantasy world.
We’re probably about due for a revivial of la Movida, and SrSraSr are totally the band to bring it about. Playing scrappy stop-start glam-punk songs that rarely go past two minutes as if they invented it, having a fucking laugh by dressing up as women and advocating ‘comebolsismo’ as a way of life, these guys are true patriots, and the most unpretentious Spanish rock and roll band I’ve heard in ages. Get into them.
