Most old people in Russia are wary of street photographers. That is why it took Igor Gavar a lot of time and efforts to launch the blog depicting street style of old ladies living in Omsk – a Russian city situated in the Ural mountains.
As Gavar puts it, senior people living in Russian regions have been totally isolated from the world fashion context and therefore they managed to preserve their own unique style. Surviving on a modest state pension, they are forced to blend old-school items with affordable clothes from car boot sales. And as the blog shows, results are often intriguingly sleek.
