New realms of fantasy

HBO continues its winning streak with Game of Thrones.

I had never heard of this A Song of Ice and Fire series of books until weeks before the show aired when (suspiciously?) an article about the fans of the books appeared in The New Yorker. Suddenly, I see ads for the show all over town. Maybe they had been up before and I just hadn’t noticed them, always a possibility with me, but… you know… the advertisement, whether coincidental or not, worked on me.

I watched the first episode and was impressed with the look of the show, if nothing else. However, after the second episode, my friend and I were hooked. Weekly dinner dates to learn the latest happenings of the Starks are in order, and as summer is nearing here in Los Angeles, I’m anxious for winter to arrive in Winterfell so all of these monstrous things from north of the wall can start appearing—will they? I hope so, if only so I can see more of Jon Snow.

OMG can I come back on TV yet?

This weeks recorded episode began with an little ad/trailer for the new season of True Blood. It apparently is starting on June 26th, and I say that date can’t come soon enough. I don’t need to see any teasers for what’s in store, I just want to jump right into it.
