Is it just me or is everybody on Facebook hiatus? My online friends have been dropping like flies. I get the sense that as Facebook makes it’s privacy settings more and more convoluted and starts to integrate more commerce, people start to loose interest quicker and quicker. It hasn’t driven me away yet, but I can see a time when it might.
Now, God knows how I would ever know what’s happening on the weekends or spend my time on slow days at work, but I can feel that time approaching for myself. I am less and less inclined to post personal information online as my Facebook circles grow wider and wider. I was having more fun when Facebook felt like a private conversation between myself and my friends. Now I’m bombarded with ads, dubious links, and cloying games. The social network giant better be careful about how it proceeds or I can see the day when I too might have to unfriend Facebook for good.
