It’s hard not to be a fan of a project like Shirts and Destroy when it comes down to it. As a portal for high quality art and t-shirts for artists and musicians, it can’t be beaten, the fact that it ties into some of my favorite bands and artists as well just means that everyone’s a winner.
Anyone can copy a band t-shirt online but few places will sell direct for the likes of Sunn 0)), Pelican and Agoraphobic Nosebleed. No, it’s not perhaps a place that’ll cater to your Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver fans, but you never know.
Shirts and Destroy are also just as appreciative of the artist as they are of the band. They’re home to the shirt based artwork of guys like Seldon Hunt, Justin Bartlett and Anthony Pontius, all mind blowing artists whose work you’d known to see it, no matter where yours musical appreciations lie.
The coolest thing of all though is that the quality of their shirts is better than anything out there. Uniquely sourced, they’re by far the most comfortable shirts I own, no cheap prints off of mass bought American Apparel here. Just a vision and a base for artists that allows direct support for a wide array of independent artists.
