There’s a lot to look forward to this summer, unfortunately its all after season two of Psychoville ends. I completely missed the first season, somehow, but discovered this dark comedy on season two. Its written by and starring The League of Gentlemen members Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton. Being a fan of The League of Gentlemen it has everything that made that series exemplary, strange, tragic, scary, weird, characters and very awkward plot twists, never have I seen so much death since Game of Thrones. Some of the key characters are David Sowerbutts (played by Pemberton), a serial killer-obsessed man-child who still lives with his mother Maureen (Shearsmith) & Mr. Jelly (Shearsmith), an embittered one-handed children entertainer. I have to say David and his mother Maureen are my favorites; Maureen’s Tina Turner impersonation will haunt me for the rest of the month, oh and don’t miss David’s own website here.
