I wanted to write the post about the widely raved about Bill Cunningham: New York and how it is playing at Living Room Theater on 341 SW Tenth Avenue in Portland until Thursday June 16th but then I read this post from Fashionista.com a while back and decided to do some research on the fashion other movies that might be coming to Portland.
1. L’amour Fou the documentary about Yves Saint Laurent also at The Living Room Theatre
2. Vidal Sassoon: The Movie a documentary about famed hairdresser was playing at The Living Theatre, but alas we have missed it! You’ll have to look for this one on video…
3. Page One: Inside the New York Times This documentary is not about fashion per se, but chronicles at length, the media’s transformation as the Internet takes over print. With a release date of June 17th I don’t know where it’s going to play yet, but I’m sure it will make it’s way to our fair city by the summers end.
4. Gainsbourg a biography chronicling the life of famed musician Serge Gainsbourg including his relationships with celebrated icons like Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin. Out on August 31st, we’ll probably have to wait to see this one until the fall…just in time for fashion week!
