So the mainstream world has caught on to the post-dubstep thing it would seem. That is cool, I guess, but the indie/DIY side of it is really IDM and cutesy and mostly loses the deepness and darkness that makes it so good.
Luckily there is the sexier side with side-chained deep synths, shaken tambourines, and beautifully mutilated diva accapellas. Deadboy, Jacques Greene, XXXY, Julio Bashmore and many others are making music that works in a VIP lounge as well a gritty warehouse, combining elements of UK and US garage, techno, and rap/R&B like The Dream and Drake. This is music for adults, but really young adults that like to keep their dancing pretty next-level.
