Lucky peach, not the chicken

Martin | July 18th, 2011

Just to continue my descent into food related media I just discovered The Art of Eating a magazine by Edward Behr.Only published four times a year with no adverts, I picked up a back issue in Berlin at Do you read me? (a fantastic magazine and book shop similar to Papercuts). I am now hooked on their in-depth features on simple well made food, the people and the techniques behind it, I’m especially hung up on a feature on cheese-making – Pushing to a Delicate Extreme: The Cheeses of Soyoung Scanlan” – “Making Your Own Fresh Cheese, could be a matter of weeks before I try my hand. A brand new magazine that I have ordered by yet to receive, is Lucky Peach,  a new journal of food writing published by McSweeneys also four times a year. It is a creation of David Chang, the chef behind the Momofuku restaurants in New York, writer Peter Meehan, and Zero Point Zero Production, producers of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. Each issue explores a single topic through travelogue, essays, art, photography, interviews, and recipes. Finally I am also addicted to reading Eater daily, its my number one site for aggregating all the news I need to know about BBQ, burgers and tacos.
