Afternoon Delights

Martin | July 19th, 2011

The 4th of July see’s cult comedy duo Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer launch their first online series with Fosters beer – Vic & Bob’s Afternoon Delights. Its been a long time since I saw them on TV, a long time from the success of Shooting Stars, their major hit, which also saw Matt Lucas pre-Little Britain fame. Check out the film here of him as George Dawes (dressed as a teletubby) singing a short medley of Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen and Too Shy by Kajagoogoo. Anyway, this is Fosters second outing with associating themselves with UK comedy the first was with Steve Coogan as Alan Partridge – Mid-Morning Matters. Best to Wiki Alan Partridge as there has been two radio series, three television series and numerous TV and radio specials, including appearances on BBC’s Comic Relief and a favorite of mine, Chris Morris’s The Day Today. Supposedly the series was viewed by over 1 million viewers within three weeks last November. I have to say it was a great series, yet again showing how insecure, superficial and narcissistic he is, see this episode where he interviews himself!
