Since its launch in February 2011, Johannesburg’s experimental online-magazine Cuss, has evolved with every issue. From its humble beginnings as a vintage lookbook to its current incarnation of platform for the arts and culture.
Up until now, Cuss has either been downloadable or viewable on Issu, a digital publishing platform for magazines and newspapers. The latest manifestation though is a video magazine produced, in collaboration with Icelandic sculptor Svaenska Hellberg and Swedish fashion designer Mina Lundgren who are currently on a residency with the Cuss collective.
A video magazine is essentially a video, although in this case multimedia components: video clips, image, text and sound have been integrated onto a single plain with the purposes of publishing content.
The exploration of the video magazine format is a testament to Cuss ever-changing nature, the result this time is a compelling video worth watching over and over again.
