First Lady of Bass

Camea is no debutante. With 68 tracks to her name on Beatport, she is making quite a stand in the world of digitized dance music. She has releases out on Richie Hawtin’s Minus and Plus8 Records, Get Physical, and Spectral, as well as her own labels Clink and Klickhaus, which have been in steady operation since 2005. She hails from Seattle. It is here her nimble fingers honed the craft of the delicate touch of the piano, only later to be transformed into the delicate touch of the synthesizer, LFO knob, sweep, and the a DJ Mixer. She later made her home in New York City, and most recently, Berlin.

You may recognize those beats are hers the next time you are bustin’ it on the dancefloor. Wanna know how? Well, she has a signature rising and falling sound in most of her newer tracks, that builds intensity for those who move. Her percussion is minimal, luscious, and insanely groovy. When it comes to bass, she likes it heavy.

Globetrotting is a regular activity for Camea. Her “dark sophisticated techno and micro-house sound has addicted the hip” … or should I say, the hip-shaking. Her music speaks the language of emotion, infusing it with the energy of the danse. With sassy track names like The Flirt Locker, Dub Me Tender, and Voiding the Fill, and ingenuity paired with a percussive signature groovy rumble it is no wonder that this rising star is making waves.
